Dear Write Tribe Pro Bloggers,
We are in Week 4 of our wonderful pledge to blog daily.
We did it in April 2014 for the A to Z Challenge.
We did it in July 2014 for the Ultimate Blogging Challenge.
And I say, with confidence, that we can make it a habit.
The thing is, we are all good writers. That’s why the idea of blogging daily appealed to us.
Yes, so life intervenes quite often. We lose the motivation. Or think we do.
We think there’s no time, no ideas, no muse.
But you know what? Excuses are easy. Very easy.
I am guilty of giving in to them, too. Probably because it doesn’t feel bad to skip posting for a day.
But then, what about the commitment we made?
I know we must be flexible. So we skipped posting a day here and a day there.
That’s okay. Can’t turn the clock back. Although – in blogging we CAN turn the clock back by backdating posts. I am not suggesting you do that.
What I am suggesting is – since we pledged to blog daily, work it into your routine.
I am doing the same, because, as I said earlier, I too am guilty. In fact, I am embarrassed that I even forgot to add my links to the weekly threads.
Let’s learn from the days gone by.
By now, we know what the problem is – each one of us has a different reason for skipping posting.
Some have even bowed out of being a Write Tribe Pro Blogger.
Here’s what I think can be done:
Re-look at what holds you back.
One way to do it is to buddy up with two others and be accountable to each other.
If the visiting and commenting feels overwhelming, just take 2 or 3 at a time. There’s no competition.
But yes, if you are serious about your blog, there’s everything to gain.
Take a look at our Write Tribe Pro Blogger activity so far:
Week 1 Aug 1 – 3 ,2014 = 43 participants
Week 1 continues Aug 4 – 10, 2014 = 84 participants
Week 2 Aug 11 – 17, 2014 = 57 participants
Week 3 – Aug 18 – 24, 2014 = 37 participants
We are now at Week 4 – Aug 25 to 31, 2014.
I suspect that some of you, like me, did not add your links to the linky. Even so, I think those numbers are not bad at all! It shows an average of 55 people blogging daily – which is remarkable.
I now ask you this:
- do you think we can motivate each other?
- do you think we can encourage each other?
- do you think we can help each other?
I hope you said yes. And I want you to come back this week, energized, happy and eager to write.
Write short posts.
Write picture posts.
Write list posts.
Invite guest posts.
Respond to the Write Tribe prompts.
Basically, have fun blogging and do not let it stress you out.
Creativity takes courage – and I know you can!
Are you IN?
If you have ideas/feedback, share them in the comments.
If you need help with something, ask!
In closing, a standing ovation to the Write Tribe Pro Bloggers who are valiantly staying committed to blogging daily – thank you for inspiring us!
