World Gratitude Day.
What a nice ring it has, right?
What a fabulous idea, don’t you think?
Not that we need a special day to feel gratitude – it ought to be a daily practice – still, it feels good to celebrate our gratefulness together on a particular day designated for the purpose – just like we’d do a, let’s say, birthday, eh?
Living gratitude is a great way to celebrate life.
“Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes of which all men have some.” — Charles Dickens
So I decided to share a lovely poem about gratitude that says it all. It is one of my most favorites.
Here it is:
Be Thankful ~ Author Unknown
Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary
Because it means you’ve made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.
Needless to say, I am grateful to all of you for your presence here today. 🙂
So now – let’s celebrate with a post on gratitude on our blogs – and add our links here to the linky below.
