What is a Blog Carnival? Here’s how About.com describes one:
A blog carnival is usually a themed collection of links to other blog posts. The carnival appears periodically (some are as frequent as once a week) and has been compared to an anthology or online magazine. Carnivals vary but typically have an owner, organizer, or editor-in-chief who keeps the carnival organized.
So you can see how our Wednesday prompts and 100 Words on Saturday fit the bill, right? The Anything Goes on Sunday posts I do on Everyday Gyaan and the Writer’s hop Vidya and I took part in recently are good examples too. However, we’re also planning on starting something new (we’re very creative that way!).
We’re going to have some blog hops/ carnivals hosted by Write Tribe readers.
Yes, you can throw your hat in the ring for a chance to be a host.
What you need to be/ do?
1. A regular blogger – you’ve blogged at least once a week for the past year or so.
2. Send us your request including the prompt or theme you would like to host.
3. Once your blog and idea are approved, we’ll request you to send us a draft post.
4. We will then co-ordinate with you for a date and send you the linky code and instructions. I’m sure you will welcome this opportunity to be a blog hop host and get lots of traffic to your blog.
For today’s Wednesday prompt, we’re trying out something different. Vidya Sury shared an excerpt from a book called The Pebble in The Shoe. Please visit her post here to read the excerpt and write about the pebble/s in your shoe.
