Today, 16 October, is Blog Action Day.
I had given you a heads up on this a while back. However, if you haven’t registered for it as yet – it’s not too late. Go here to register.
This year the topic is Human Rights. We can’t talk enough about this, can we? So go ahead and blog about this.
Here are some quick tips from the BAD site:
1. Post your blog. Need inspiration? Take a look at the live feed and resources from Amnesty International, Walk Free and other Blog Action Day partners.
2. Promote your post. Join the conversation by using the hashtags #Bad2013 and #HumanRights on Twitter and your other social networks
3. Go to blogactionday.org to see posts by other participants. See something you like? Leave a comment on the blog itself, or tweet the link to show your support.
4. Spread the word about BAD on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. Thousands of people from 126 countries are talking about Human Rights on their live stream!
Here is some inspiration from us:
“I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what I can say is that they must change if they are to get better.” ― Georg Christoph Lichtenberg
“Wherever men and women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views, that place must — at that moment — become the center of the universe.” ― Elie Wiesel
“Within a system which denies the existence of basic human rights, fear tends to be the order of the day. Fear of imprisonment, fear of torture, fear of death, fear of losing friends, family, property or means of livelihood, fear of poverty, fear of isolation, fear of failure. A most insidious form of fear is that which masquerades as common sense or even wisdom, condemning as foolish, reckless, insignificant or futile the small, daily acts of courage which help to preserve man’s self-respect and inherent human dignity. It is not easy for a people conditioned by fear under the iron rule of the principle that might is right to free themselves from the enervating miasma of fear. Yet even under the most crushing state machinery courage rises up again and again, for fear is not the natural state of civilized man.” ― Aung San Suu Kyi, Freedom from Fear

What a great idea. Since you have CommentLuv mine will use that link instead of cluttering things up with a second link to the same place. 🙂
As usual, your awesomeness helps ignite the whole arena. Thank you for helping us all showcase on this big day for humans across the globe.
Thank you!
Here is my post Corinne. It is related to the elderly. Just penned down something that has been disturbing me from quite sometime. Here is my link – http://geetasfile.blogspot.com/2013/10/tomorrow-it-may-be-me.html

I have a beautiful guest post on my blog posted two days ago. I have registered for BlogAction Day. Can I post the link here?
Hi Alka – I’m sorry I just saw this. Yes, you can. The linky is still open. Please add the link.
Blog Action Day is such a great initiative. I am glad we are all getting together to speak out.
Here is my post, Corinne. It’s on Human Rights and Mental Health.
Thank you for giving us all another avenue to share our thoughts. When it comes to spreading awareness and creating thought-processes, every pair of hand that helps counts.

I’m off to read your post, Sakshi. Yes, we must be the voice of the voiceless.
