We know that inspiration can be found virtually everywhere! It could be from books, music, movies, writing prompts, an overheard conversations or even from the most unlikely sources. Every writer needs to find inspiration in order to bring out their very best. Does nature fill you with the desire to write? If so, how? Let’s take a peek into this interesting conversation with some Write Tribers. Maybe, it would help you come out from the blogging rut and inspire you to write!
A tête-à-tête with WriteTribers on how Nature Inspires Creative Writing
Shilpa Gupte: What inspires me from nature? It has to be the beach. And the wild sea with its waves lashing the shores, and the soft sand bedecked with those pretty colourful shells that inspire me. And the wind and the vast skies and the peace that I feel at the beach…all of it inspires me!
Geethica: The ģreen colour inspires me the most in nature. And the sky that has no boundaries. There is not one incident to share but many where I have literally looked for solutions to different problems. And got the real answers.
Lata Sunil: It has to be greenery and mountains.
Bhavya: It’s a one-word answer from me – Rain!
Ramya: To me it’s the mountains, waterfalls and lush greenery. I’m not a beach person.
Vinay: I love imagining the beach and the waves, the way they touch my feet and the coolness. But the heat at the beach side doesn’t go down well with me. I wilt easily. 😉
Apeksha Rao: The beach it is! I loved sitting in a shack, on the beach, when it’s pouring outside. Some lovely music, Goan food and drinks… My idea of heaven.
Sheetal Susan Jacob: It’s rain and beaches something I miss so much these days.
Damyanti: Walks in parks are a huge inspiration for me. I’d be scared on the beach if a storm were brewing! Parks are lovely places.
Sunita Saldana: Baby animals gamboling, rain lashing the earth, the birdsong at dawn. Lazy clouds on a summer day. My building is surrounded by trees. I can peek into the crows’ nest and they come and take food from my hand. Mynas, wagtails, bulbuls, sparrows, parrots and so many others I don’t even know the names of. They have a full orchestra each morning.
Reema: Everything about nature inspires me! Be it mountains or hills; flowers and trees. Most of my writing, especially poetry is inspired by nature!
Menaka: Every time I get bored I look out to see the Koel, geese and some other birds outside… birds inspire me the most.
Payal Agarwal: Dew drop on the grass, raindrops on the leaves, and the petrichor. Buds, flowers, and trees, the chirping birds, the vast sky, the sun, sand, rivers, and sea, throughout the day, from dawn till dusk, nature inspires me.
Shalini R: I’ve always loved beaches – the sea, the sand, the sky, the waves caressing your feet, the wind kissing your hair… But after the initial excitement and childlike glee, I find myself calm and serene. But today, this is what I see from my window. It has inspired me to write, to take a stroll down the lane and to simply enjoy the moment. I thought I would share it with you.
Vasantha Vivek: The sky is the inspiration for me to write. I do sky meditation three times daily. Also, I love mountains and ocean. I simply get mesmerized by their majestic beauty.
Your turn now
It’s your turn now. Go for a walk or a jog. Look around. Appreciate the beauty around you. Walk into the grass, the trees, fields and hills. Let the magic of sunsets and sunrises flow through you. Make the oceans, rivers, lakes, rain, rivulets or even puddles be your source of creativity and inspiration. And then come back and tell us, how does nature inspire you to write?
