Tomorrow, 1 December, is #GivingTuesday.
#GivingTuesday is a movement to celebrate and provide incentives to give. This effort harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners—nonprofits, businesses and corporations as well as families and individuals—to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season.
#GivingTuesday inspires people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they celebrate and help create a better world.
#GivingTuesday harnesses the power of social media to create a global moment dedicated to giving around the world.
Last year, we invited you to a blog hop for Giving Tuesday. This year, we invite you to focus on sharing at your workplace, in your community and encouraging others to share.

Some ideas for #GivingTuesday
- Donate books to a community library.
- Invite your children to select a toy/s that can be donated to charity.
- Donate warm clothes and blankets. A couple of women in our housing colony have created a Bank for blankets and warm clothes. It’s a great idea and something you can initiate in your locality too.
- Raise the salary of your domestic help for no reason at all. Or give an unexpected bonus to him/her.
- Cook a meal for an elderly neighbour – or even buy them a meal and take it to them with flowers.
The ideas and opportunities to share are endless!
When We Share
When we share with someone else,
Something valuable to us.
You may find out later on,
To them they feel like they were blessed.
Some of us have lots to give,
And some of us do not.
If someone could benefit,
Why not give them a shot.
Sharing is a wonderful thing,
Especially to those you’ve shared with.
There are a lot of kind people out there,
And that is not a myth.
So next time you see someone,
Who could benefit from something you can share.
Don’t hold back and look away,
Be kind and answer their prayer.
