Create Beautiful Social Media Content with Visme
Being a blogger and content writer, I have always been on the lookout for design tools useful for creating eye-catchy posters, images for social media posts and picture collages. But with limited design experience and (knowledge of existing tools!), we often tend to opt for web-based graphic tools like Canva. These are definitely good, but it comes with limitations though. That’s when I heard of Visme and thus, my struggle of finding a great image creator came to an end.
What is Visme?
A photograph (or visual content) is worth a thousand words. People are more likely to watch a video or go through an infographic than reading information or instruction. Visme is an online graphics tool that helps you create interactive infographics and images. It is a boon to bloggers and businesses alike for it allows you to transform your mundane data to engaging content in the form of presentations, reports, graphs and charts.
Visme is a refreshing change from the traditional Powerpoint and other similar go-to software that fails to engage the audience. It is different from other image creators in many ways.
a. First and foremost, it has an easy drag-and-drop feature that helps you design attractive visual content without the need for design experience or knowledge on coding.
b. You can include audio and video to your project, record your own audio and also allow you to add animation and interactivity.
c. Visme is a multi-tool for you can create presentations and static visual content like infographics. You can create banners and social media posts with defined dimensions for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Google+.
d. It is both web and mobile friendly as it is HTML 5 based. You can download your content in all popular formats: Web URL, Image, PDF, and HTML5 formats.
e. Visme provides tons of graphic assets for your project. Unlike Canva, where every time you use one of its premium elements like certain images, backgrounds, icons and text frames, you’re charged $1 for each, Visme gives you access to millions of assets from text widgets and animated text to millions of searchable images and thousands of high-quality vector icons in over 20 categories. There are also a number of customizable infographic templates when compared to Canva.
f. You can create presentations and also share them with your colleagues and collaborate with them during the editing process. Instead of uploading it to OneDrive when you use Powerpoint, Visme allows you to simply share the URL with others without having to upload content first to a file-hosting service such as OneDrive. All you need to do is add the team member’s name and set the permissions.
g. Visme also allows you to access the analytics like how many times the project was viewed, for how long, by how many people etc.
h. Visme is a free tool. All you need to do is register and start creating your first project. Most features are free, but with an affordable fee starting at $7/month, other features such as downloading projects for offline use, password protection, access to premium widgets and templates, are available too.
Here’s a simple infographic I created with Visme.
The animations are easy and fun to do. I couldn’t however, find the Snapchat and Pinterest logos. Uploading pictures from my PC wasn’t tedious. I liked Visme especially because of its wide array of assets, its easy to use interface, clear downloadable images, and completely customizable templates.
I am satisfied with Visme when compared to Canva. Once you get used to the program, you’ll be able to create excellent visual content for social media, blogs, and businesses.
